SXU Baseball season comes to a close Submitted by Tim Moran on Wed, 05/23/2007 - 10:35pm.

One year after their first NAIA World Series appearance in 18 years, the Saint Xavier University Baseball season has come to an end with a pair of losses at the NAIA Region VII Tournament in LaCrosee, WI on Friday, May 11.

Falling behind 6-0 early on in the first game against top seeded Saint Ambrose Univeristy, a strong game offensively from senior designated hitter Ryan Buchler was not enough in an 11-4 loss. The team was officially eliminated later that day with a 6-4 loss to Mount Mercy College (IA).

The Cougars end their season with an overall record of 31-21, and with an impressive 18-2 mark in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC).
