-- Congratulations to Mount Greenwood’s Julie Popp, the 2009 Parade Queen for the city's downtown St. Patrick's Day parade. She was selected from more than 130 contestants for the downtown parade.

-- Park early because the police barricades go up at 10:30.

-- No open alcohol...you will be arrested.

-- In chilly weather head to the east side...the afternoon sun makes it a couple degrees warmer.

-- Residents, organizations and businesses within a reasonable vicinity of the parade route may rent portable restrooms for $75/restroom for the day of the parade. Mail checks to Patrick Heffernan, 10734 S. Talman Ave., Chicago, 60655.
