Weather cooperates for Earth Day event Submitted by Michael Fielding on Sun, 04/22/2007 - 9:02pm.

Temperatures in the 70s helped make the 19th Ward's only organized Earth Day cleanup a little more enjoyable Saturday. More than three dozen neighbors from Mount Greenwood spent the day picking up trash and raking leaves at Mount Greenwood Park and McKiernan Park.

The cleanup was sponsored by Friends of the Parks, a Chicago not-for-profit advocacy group, and organized by the recently formed Mount Greenwood Park Advisory Council.
