Mount Greenwood woman dies in freak accident Submitted by Staff on Fri, 06/01/2007 - 7:17pm.

Patricia Hansen, 44, of Mount Greenwood, died Thursday from injuries incurred during an auto accident May 25.

While driving home at about 11 p.m. near the intersection of 143rd Street and Ridgeland Avenue, Hansen braked abruptly while driving through a green light. Her husband was driving the vehicle behind hers. He was unable to stop and collided with his wife's vehicle ahead of him.

A passenger in Hansen's car - her daughter, eight-year-old Kiersten - suffered from several broken bones. Her husband suffered minor injuries.

Hansen was a veterinarian technician with the Evergreen Park Animal Hospital for 20 years.

McGann Funeral Home in Mount Greenwood is handling funeral arrangements.
